Permits for entering Aboriginal land in the Kimberleys

by Heather
(Sunshine Coast QLD)

My husband & I will be travelling to the Kimberleys May to August this year. Where do I get permits & passes for entering Aboriginal land & what do they cost?

My husband & I would like to go to Honeymoon Beach & visit Pago Mission ruins in the Kalumburu area. What other areas do we need permits to enter land. Are we able to get these permits in Kununurra?

Hi Heather,

Please see:
Gibb River Road permits
Permits for the Kimberley

(You can use the site search to search this site for existing information.)

The standard Kalumburu permit is all that normal tourists will ever need.

For any other permits--for people who need to access Aboriginal land that is not open to tourists--follow the link to the Department for Indigenous Affairs (on the GRR page) to find out more.

(I had a typo in that link but it's fixed now.)
